Born and raised on the west coast of Canada, Ashley Wey began studying traditional music and fundamental techniques at the age of five years old, before moving on to Jazz, Latin and Funk ten years later. By the time she was fifteen, she was performing professionally, and composing and arranging music for bands of all sizes.

Ashley is working in and around Toronto as a composer, and free lance musician. She currently performs with Eva Avila – 2006 Canadian Idol, The Parachute Club, Babes in Jazzland, Warriors for Peace, and several other bands that are listed on the project page.

Ashley has studied with, and absorbed the piano
stylings of George Cables, Hilario Duran and Don Thompson. She attended Humber College, where she graduated with a Diploma of Music with Honours (Performance), and later received a Bachelor of Music ( Jazz Studies) degree.

She was awarded the Duke Ellington Memorial Award
for arranging from Humber College, and the prestigious Fraser MacPherson Music scholarship. She has performed in numerous Jazz Festivals, and played on Carnival, and Holland America Cruise Ships.
